So, what do the kids call it now "STEALTH WEALTH", "OLD MONEY AESTHETIC" or whatever the latest key word they are typing it doesn't matter either way it's still just LUXURY, not fancy.  If you've read our very important and informative blog article "fancy ~ discover the difference", you will know and agree that fancy is far more luxurious than LUXURY could ever be.

If you didn't read the blog post the luxurious quality of fancy is far richer and reaches far more deeply than material standards. Forgive me if this takes a bit more time than you want to spend but I wanted to illustrate this point with a snippet of my life.  When I was in college many more moons ago than I'm comfortable to fathom wealth was not quiet, it didn't whisper AT ALL.  It was loud and proud and was shouting to the rooftops. Nope no one wore Canada Goose, they wore mink, fox etc. during the winter. Not everyone. And here is the rub. One of the sweetest persons I've ever met wore just a down coat during a winter.  At that time I was and still am a big fan of COACH.  I know this isn't very nice so please forgive me.  Back then those of us who loved COACH kind of made fun of the crowd that loved anything with letters all over it. The inside joke was that they were perpetrators who weren't fooling anyone. Some really did have the keys to Fort Knox, the rest just wanted you to think they did. Either way I don't feel that guilty for the eye rolls and giggles because they were just so mean and obnoxious.  I never went home for Thanksgiving. Just Christmas and some summers. She invited me to her aunt's family home for thanksgiving in the city where I went to school.  This is one of the best examples of fancy I can show you.  It was at this thanksgiving dinner that I found out that her great uncle's name was on buildings (plural) at our university. Not because he bought his way in.  No it was because of who he was and what he did. What he invented. He was a part of American History. One word...Coach.
