Unlike what you will find on mall shelves, or sitting in (a certain ecommerce) warehouse, all Skin Like Butter treasures are handmade fresh for your enjoyment. Even when we were in upscale fancy boutiques in quaint hamlets along the California coast (pre Etsy days) we would always ship in small batches to our stores with sell by dates on all of our invoices. As it happened it was always gobbled up quickly and re-ordered and restocked way before the sell by date. We do use a paraben free preservative in small amounts so you can stock up on your favs. Why is this a priceless difference? Just like what you put IN your body has a sell by date, what you put ON your body should also have a sell by date. This is important because in order for the well-chosen active ingredients which are in the case of our body oils the entire ingredient, or in the case of our body products 90% of the ingredient deck the ingredients have to be fresh to be at peek effectiveness.

Full disclosure sometimes there is an annoying downside to this important benefit. Sometimes it does cause delays. We don't keep a large back stock of any of our items because then it won't be (wait for it) FRESH. However, we want to make sure you happy to we do make sure in most cases we get it ready to ship to you in 3-5 working days.
